Last week's Super Bowl XLIII had added importance to local ad agency MeringCarson, which created a TV spot that ran during the much-anticipated game -- the company's third project for the NFL and the NFL media divisions.
"Our work had never been presented on as big a stage as this. The Super Bowl is such a showcase for advertising -- we are really excited to have done this work for them," said David Mering, MeringCarson's CEO. The spot, designed to promote the NFL Network, NFL.com and NFL Mobile, featured new music from U2; a number of Oakland Raiders, including Darren McFadden; and many of the NFL events that take place leading up to the start of next season.
Greg Carson, creative director and partner at the agency, said, "The next season for the NFL begins almost immediately after the Super Bowl ends. And the various arms of NFL media are there to bring all us football fans coverage leading right up to next year's kick-off. We chose to communicate these elements through the eyes of a football player as he moves through the many phases of the off-season, including the NFL Scouting Combine, NFL Draft, Training Camp and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony ... illustrating that NFL Network is where "Football Season Never Ends."
