Senior Media Planner/Buyer
We are looking for a smart, experienced, and motivated Senior Media Planner/Buyer to join our Sacramento media team. The Senior Media Planner/Buyer will be the primary oversight for media planning and buying on a fast-paced account. The ideal candidate will:
- Be passionate about media and have a strong background and knowledge of all media planning and buying disciplines.
- Possess excellent analytical, multi-tasking and decision making abilities.
- Have expertise in evaluation, negotiation, planning and purchasing of traditional media (broadcast, print, outdoor).
- Offer a high level of experience in online media planning.
- Possess a significant amount of client contact experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of clients’ business and apply media understanding accordingly to help deliver against the clients’ needs/objectives.
- Work closely with the Director of Media Strategy in the development and communication of all media recommendations.
- Act as the primary client contact to maintain and develop client relationships.
- Prepare and deliver media presentations and POVs to clients.
- Develop and manage media plans and market flowcharts.
- Negotiate media buys and media placement across multiple media (TV, Radio, Print, Outdoor).
- Lead the day-to-day planning, implementation and tracking of media campaigns.
- Maintain accurate media budget control and flow of media activity, including Local TV, Interactive, Radio, OOH, Print.
- Establish professional, productive rapport with representatives/media vendors.
- Manage and analyze media placements to maximize ROI and report on their effectiveness and progress toward achieving goals.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of agency/ media planning experience
- Expertise across all media types (both traditional and emerging)
- Working knowledge of research tools and industry software (Strata, Nielsen, MRI, Scarborough, @plan, Omniture, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong negotiating abilities
- Proven leadership ability and previous client relationship experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
